Front End Developer


Looking for a skilled front:end developer to help build the next generation front end for our ecommerce websites. This position will work closely with architects and other developers to take business requirements and design specifications and turn it into a well architected, fast, flexible, and beautiful front:end. The front end developer must have a design mindset with strong fundamentals in Website development and how it works.
It requires a mastery of hand coding web interfaces and a solid understanding of the delicate balance between site performance, functionality, design and maintenance.

Required



Expert in HTML/CSS/JavaScript, being able to write semantic mark:up

Expert in jQuery; weve adopted jQuery as our main library

Deep understanding of cross browser development issues

Understanding DOM structure, manipulation, and events. Knowing node relation and traversing, how to create, append, remove, copy, find and attach events to DOM nodes without a JavaScript library

Strong knowledge of at least one major JavaScript library

Understanding of closure, knowing why and how to use it in JavaScript, and familiar with a few JavaScript design patterns

Knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3, knowing how to utilize new technology that can degrade gracefully

Experience with version control

Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite : our designers work exclusively in this set of programs

Experience working collaboratively with back end engineers

Experience working collaboratively with visual and interaction designers

Experience converting business requirements to technical solutions

Preferred


Experience integrating HTML based content with a content management system (Joomla)

Experience with mobile web development especially for WebKit browsers

Experience integrating with major third party APIs (Facebook, Twitter, Google)

A passion for ecommerce

Understanding of agile development methodology; experience working as part of an agile team

Management/Leadership Competencies


Ability to work with business users, product managers, QA, Release, and UI and Platform Engineering teams to develop great e:commerce applications

Strong communication, organization and planning skills along with ability to build/mentor a team

Minimum Educational Level


B.S. or M.S. in computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
